Kang Han Carlton Taekwondo Club was started on the 11th of April 2000 by Mr Jamie Oswin. Jamie had already been teaching Taekwondo for many years as part of other clubs but was encouraged to form his own by his Master, Ian Lennox.
The club's members have achieved high standards from the beginning as evidenced by very good grading performances, exceptional results in both national and international poomsae competition, including Leeanna Henrie winning the Dutch Open in 2003 and being in the GB team the same year. More recently, we have managed some promising results in Kyrougi competition and hope to improve on this in future.
Jamie Oswin is a 4th Dan Black Belt, the Poomsae coach for the Midlands area and the National Poomsae Champion for 2006 and 2007 in his age group. He was fortunate to represent Great Britain in the European Technical Championships in 1999 and has personal ambition to be part of the GB team once again.
The club is commited to maintaining its high standard, preserving the traditions of Taekwondo in particular and practicing all areas of Taekwondo.
